Tape loop and Pre Out in an Integrated Amp

Noob question but hey!
Would welcome some advice.
I have a Cyrus 3i feeding a standalone amp via its preout, in effect using the Cyrus as a preamp.
Im planning to hook up an alignment filter onto the Tape loop on the Cyrus.
At what point does this come into the sequence.
Does the preout signal out after the tapeloop or before?

Tape loop occurs before pre-out. That is how off-tape monitoring works when recording from source. You can switch the alignment filter in or out of circuit with the monitoring switch, which I think the 3i has.

That being said, an increasing number of amps offer tape loops, but not monitoring. My Densen B-250 is case in point, and that is bloody annoying when I have a three-head deck.

Aha! Thank you for confirming this for the integrated. Yes the 3i has this t/monitor function.
