Genelec, Hedd, Dutch&Dutch 8C shootout

Well all three are adjustable, the client prefers a flattish ( horizontal) target so we adjusted the 8Cs and the Hedd’s to a flatter target, I usually use Harman’s curve.
Gens threw the image more towards the listener, image size was relatively contained, the 8Cs and the Hedds’ images were much more in the room wider and taller.
Gens on some material did sound a little thin/trebly but tonally are three were very similar.
I would use the 8351Bs only in the near field, if you want an immersive sound field.
Measurements were interesting, the Hedd’s didn’t exhibit the main room mode peak of the others, perhaps the subs top and bottom positioning?
In that large room the Hedd’s just had more authority, weight, the comparison just emphasised how important it is to hear loudspeakers in your own room.
