Like lowly CD? Be great to get CD quality on Spotify. I know they’ve been testing it but clearly playing a waiting game.if it undercuts Qobuz by a couple of quid per month I may try it.

I'll say it again...the vast majority of masters delivered to digital platforms are industry standard 16bit/44.1. If you think record companies are inclined to incur significant costs in reprocessing original masters (which in many cases won't be possible anyway) for the tiny proportion of consumers demanding higher bitrates, you are very optimistic.

No. Sry, that was my tongue in cheek regarding the MQA ‘superiority’ over it's rivals. As a person who finds CD quality as good as he needs, and one who likes Spotify’s interface, this is good news, esp. if some of the cost increase goes to the musicians.
