He used to live just round the corner from us when I was a kid - I used to see him or his other half driving in what I thought was a very cool VW with big flowers painted on the side. I was seriosly impressed when i then heard him on the radio.

They certainly were! I remember going to see The Spencer Davis Group at the Granada in Kingston, way back when, with a very young Steve Winwood on keyboards. They were just great. RIP Spencer.

Nice photo. We had this tape recorder when I was a kid. A Philips IIRC.
