This week, I have mostly been drinking

bowmore-small-batch-bourbon-cask-matured-whisky.jpg

which is a sensationally good tipple, lighter and sweeter than the typical Islay with a wonderful smell. Yummy, but now I need to find some more bottles

I've not tried that Bowmore small batch one. I did their distillery tour (which is very good) last year and ended up getting the 12, 15 and 18 - of which my preferred option is the 15.

Be interesting to see what comes out of the barrels in another six years! Our local gin distillery (Chase, Herefordshire) is also ageing whisky. One to keep an eye on.

If the cafe is open, the Cullen skink is to die for! Enjoy...

My wife is a big Cullen Skink fan so will check that out if the cafe is open.

We're in Port Charlotte tonight and given I've got a bottle of Port Charlotte with me I think I'll need to have some of that later.

High quality drams there...

Yeah; I'm nearly out of any 'decent' stuff. I've still got 3 of my SMWS cask bottles (Tar Very Much, The Epitome of Peat & Eviscerated Jelly Babies) and a Ballechin Bordeaux cask bottle; but no sweeter/sherried drops etc really...

I've a few 'supping' bottles (J&B, JW Green Label, Vat 69 etc).

Finished my last drop of Old Pulteney Navigator last night too... That was a sad moment! Lovely drop; salty whisky

I can confirm that the Cullen Skink is indeed very good! Lovely little distillery, with very friendly folks so we enjoyed our tour. Bought a bottle of the Machir Bay as it seemed appropriate as we headed there afterwards to give Ludo a run on the beach.

It's much smaller scale than the other distilleries I've visited:

I've got these on their way to me, should land tomorrow hopefully. Not tried any of them either so looking forward to getting them :)

I'll report back once I've had a snifter or 3 :D

Good work! Love Glenfarclas, of all expressions. I bought a bottle of the 40 about 6 years ago, incredible stuff. Wish I’d bought a few more and hid them away, wouldn’t pay the silly prices now. The 105 is a lovely drop (cask strength).
