Turntable downsizing

I was recently given a rather sad TD160/TP16 by a neighbour who's moving...nice thing was the plinth and the lid were undamaged. I've spent about £100 and elbow grease - AT VM95E cartridge, 3D printed replacement headshell, Thakker belt, bit of oil, repurposed old Chord interconnect for the output, new mains plug, blocks for the plinth etc. Sounds as good as most £1000 decks - even with a £45 cartridge and the original rubber mat.
 
Try a Systemdek Transcription. Excellent quality apart from the Nextel and they go for nothing. Pees on anything up to £2k. Much better than an LP12 and have owned both at the same time.
Systemdek IIX/900 is already a great deck, especially with acrylic platter and Rega based tonearm.

It should sound like a £1000 deck, because that's what it would be new.
