Duplantis World Pole Vault Record.

Bloody hell, I still remember watching awestruck at how Sergei Bubka could vault so high. It's great when an athlete seems to appear out of nowhere and breaks records.

I did the pole vault in a school athletics match, just to get the afternoon out of class really. The pole was a solid aluminium thing like a fat clothes pole. Three failed attempts at a height I could've jumped without the bloody thing.

Hardly come from nowhere. He was one of the best two or three years ago and is now the one to beat. I hope it spurs Sam Kendricks on.
