2020 New Album Recommendations

Surprised this wasn’t already a thread.

I’m hoping to get some more listening time this year myself, after moving and a whole load of associated distractions last year, so would really like to know what others are discovering through this year.

Nothing has really jumped out at me yet (which explains the thought for the thread), but this is something I’ve listened to a couple of times and from a genre on the periphery of my normal fare... re-imagined classical folk songs...

Bonny Light Horesman - Bonny Light Horsemen

(Perhaps try Magpie’s Nest as a taster)

Bonny Light Horesman - Bonny Light Horsemen

Thanks, listening to this now: Opening track hits the spot.

Not seen much yet this year and been catching up on those end of year lists and so on.

Just read a review of Joey Alexander's new album, Warna, which sounds good.

My top picks so far:
Bonny Light Horseman - Bonny Light Horsemen
The Big Moon - Walking Like We Do
October Drift - Forever Whatever
Pinegrove - Marigold

An addition: the new Wire album turned up today.
The usual excellent angular songs, with oblique lyrics.
43 years in, and they're still making great, interesting records. I'm struggling to think of anyone else who's managed that.
