Very sad new, Cream was the band I followed as a youth, they were all great, only one left now.

Sad news, who’d have thought back in the day Eric Clapton would have been the last surviving Cream member.
As for his drumming, by his own admission he just used basic rudiments albeit very well.

Greatest drummer? I think there are quite a few who have taken it to another level however how many will still be playing the way he was in his final years of playing I don’t know.

He was a good fit for Cream but he had played and fought with Jack Bruce for years so the rhythm section was very likely to work musically.Clapton was just the cream on top!
