Noise-free 6922?

I need a new pair of 6922 valves for my pre - one has gone very noisy.
The current ones seem to be EH. I have had problems with noisy Philips JAN in the past.

Any ideas of what and where to buy?

"Gone noisy" is odd, either you have a gas leak or the valve operating voltages are out of range - wise to check them first before swapping

Indeed they can just "go noisy".... It shouldn't be a problem to find quiet enough ones for a line stage though!

I have limited things to the valve (I think) by swapping them from one channel to the other and finding that the problem changes channels with the valve.

When I was having trouble with those valves I had all sorts of intermittent whooshing and whining...

A little costly but I had good service from these people earlier this year.

I designed and built an MC head amp using ECC88's once... now that was a test of quietness for the valves... all 4 of them! Expensive NOS etc was no better than cheap Chinese or Russian and in fact was often the noisiest!

This is a really extreme test of noise though... one too noisy for this would likely be fine in an MM stage and a line stage is even less critical.
