Folk/Acoustic

Zoe Wren, young upcoming singer/songwriter can still be seen busking on the London Underground, give generously

Not mentioned as yet but fantastically enjoyable folky punk sounds always available from Blyth Power. I’ve seen them live more than 100 times around the country and they have a unique style and sound. Lots of trad folk style storytelling but with real historical depth behind the tales. Very inventive and I love the stripped back sound.

They are on bandcamp but there are a few albums on Apple Music too - ‘Out from under the king’ and ‘On the Viking Station’ are very fun, and check out ‘Alnwick and Tyne’ for a cruder but fun style.

Grahame.

After a 15 year gap to bring up her children, Folk singer/songwriter Bill (Belinda) Jones is back with her fourth album, Wonderful Fairytale and wonderful it is, here's a trac from it

A wonderful marriage of English folk meets baroque. As this review states, " ... we can flip a coin to decide whether it belongs in folk or classical, since sea shanties is not an option".
Which ever your mood or taste, give it a play. It's a wonderful record. Enjoy!

Some Russians singing in French... look for Otava Yo (the Western transcription of the name) if you like the group

and playing a Finnish tune

They also do Russian :)
