Capacitor help

The OP was lucky to have caught this in time. Many LCD TV failing power supply capacitors take out the switching mosfet and then blow other boards in the process.
 
These things seem to be designed to last around 10 years and then spontaneously self destruct.

My big TV had a PS caps failure a year or so back which just happened to coincide with the Maplins stock sell off.

I replaced all the smaller caps on the PS board (about 10 in all, assorted values) for the princely sum of £1.05!

Winner I thought, but same TV has now developed a line of dodgy pixels on the far right which start working once it's warmed up a bit.

Little chance of fixing that I suspect.
 
I have fixed a few tv power supply boards before and it seems that its common to find 10v rated caps sitting on a 10v rail !
is this what they call a built in wear factor :eek:
