Well happy, but cartridge is a good few years old now, so will be replacing soon. I like the Denon, so maybe another? Unless you know of a better option?

Abbydog- curious to know your impressions of the three ARC power amps you have- particularly if the REF 110 is an obvious SQ advance on the others.
 
There's been some updates.

Preamp. BPBP with a Khozmo optically encoded relay switched smt attenuator. Big old psu for main board, simple one for the attenuator logic.

Dac. Mytek brooklyn with a tiny parallel lt3045 psu.

Phonostage. Paradise.

Cart. Benz LP.

Deck. Kuzma stabi s 12" unipivot arm, bearing subplatter and platter replaced with modified lp12 parts and a mober dc psu

Power amps. 4x Nuerochrome86p run as bridged monos.

How do you find the Yamaha AS501 ? It seems an outrageous bargain ! I've been considering it for some time, especially with the built-in dac...I have ProAc D15s, so do you think this would match ? Listening is virtually all classical.

They’re all nice amps but different flavours. Tried a Ref 150 a while ago and didn’t get on with it. But the 110 came up quite recently and I really wanted something that did not run 6550s as I didn’t want to be totally dependant on that output tube. The 110, which has had some work, runs KT120s and so far I like it a lot - it is staying.

I’m a classical listener as well. Yamaha 501 is a great amp. Used it for a couple of years now. Decent dac and decent phono stage. I’m looking at the 801 as it has a sabre dac and other refinements. I really like the Yammy sound.
