I see that Richer Sounds now sell the Naim Mu:confused: I thought that Naim was the type of company to distance it self from box pushers;)

Richer Sounds are cable pushers, that's how the staff make bonuses to fatten their very meager basic earnings.

Naim are cable pushers as well. They should get on well together.

I had very good experiences with Richer Sounds in my early days of hifi, i found the staff in birmingham fantastic, never got pushed anything by them, Gary the owner was a very decent chap & much better than many i have experienced in so called hifi shops

Little harsh i think to call them box & cable pushers.

Richer sounds used to cater for those who may not be so well off but enjoyed hifi so got hold of previous models at knock down prices, purchased my first seperates sytem from them.

Bit snobby i think.

Why limit your sales? If I were Naim I would sell through Richer Sounds too.

I agree with Ragaman, always been a nice experience in Richer Sounds - namely the one in Exeter :)

The muso for Naim is more of a lifestyle product, probably for the cost of developing it for a company mainly dealing in two channel they need to make their money back. It also introduces more people to the brand which can only be a good thing.

Richer Sounds sells very good 'entry level' products that in time their customers will move up the ladder to brands like Naim and Naim needs products like the muso to sell in large numbers, a bread and butter product if you like.

Never had a bad experience with Richersounds.
I Bought a new TV a couple of months ago from them with a 6 year warranty.
I bought my Muso from John Lewis, not exactly a specialist dealer either.

Some silly snobbery coming out here.

A brilliant marketing ploy.
Get people interested in Naim, probably a brand they've never heard of.
Then they realise there is more....
A bit like giving out crack at school gates.
I've already seen the posts on the Naim forum 'looking to upgrade from muso', the poor poor things.

I've had good experiences with Birmingham too, and I live 5-10 minutes drive from the Lichfield branch and pop in from time to time, I've brought a few bits from them too, they are also excellent.

"You need a power supply upgrade to get the most out of the Mu-So". :D

nothing wrong with richer sounds, good old elitism.

Yep, a TV from Richer for me and some little round surround speakers, great service. Lucky Naim to have such a good retail chain.

My first and second iteration of real Hifi was bought in Richer Sounds, I was very sorry when they closed down in Dublin.

The NAD amp and Marantz CDP are still providing music for the next generation of Sloops.

Good luck to them and Naim.

Pioneer Blue Ray player , Mini system and speakers from them. Nothing wrong with Richer Sounds . Very nice people . Won't hesitate to shop there again , nicer than Curry's and frankly better service than you get these days from John Lewis . Yes I said that and stand by it .

I quite like RicherSounds. Doesn't bother me that they're selling Naim stuff. I can cope with that.

I like Richers too. Not really bought any hifi from them but I did buy a Humax freesat box from the Exeter branch. Paid an extra 20 quid for a five year warranty which they refund if it is not called in. They're a good shop and the staff are knowledgeable, polite and enthusiastic.

I see that Richer Sounds now sell the Naim Mu:

More, late-breaking, news:

Mafeking has been relieved.

Relevant, and dubious, stereotype?

"Fun fact about dinosaurs I learned my biology professor: some were so big that it took a long time for signals to reach the brain so some dinosaurs had slow reaction when attacked in a place like the tail. To compensate for this, large dinosaurs like the T-rex had a nerve cluster in their abdomen that acted like a second brain to receive signals faster.

So the T-rex and others had second brain in their ass area."

So they've been doing this for some time then?

Richer in London, specifically Swiss Cottage - the staff friendly, not so knowledgeable, but having said that...when I go into Richer, I know what I want. I make sure online that they have it in the shop. I call ahead for them to have it ready for me and boxed/tied/bagged and i pick up and pay.

Real handy to have them in the neighborhood. Where else can one regularly purchase a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 speakers for £38? :)

Agree with all positive comments about Richer Sounds. Their good value extended warranty and being able to take any purchase back within a week for a full refund if the item does not meet expectations is excellent.
