It's right there in the wikipedia entry for Gatestone Institute. Don't be lazy.

(The wikipedia entry for Gatestone founder Nina Rosenwald is equally illuminating: "The Sugar Mama of Anti-Muslim Hate".)

I saw her interview along a Muslim woman lawyer . It's not all that clear.

..."Academic researchers tend to be more relaxed, saying that “fears that councils are forming a parallel legal system appear to be unfounded”.

But researchers also stress that we need more information to work out how important Sharia councils are on the ground, and the experiences of people using them.

Similarly, the government now says that “there is evidence of a problem, but we have an inadequate understanding of all the issues involved”. It’s commissioned a review into whether Sharia is being “misused or applied in a way which is incompatible with the law”, to report in 2016."...

Why the f..ck I am the only one trying to find some factual evidence in what Trump is saying ? I can't stand the guy . I 'm not able to watch him for more than 30 sec.
When he said that Muslims were cheering 9/11 the attention was quickly diverted from the fact that there were indeed incidents to a fact that he was mocking a disabled reporter when he was clearly not. His explanation is perfectly reasonable and even a dimwit can see that it's just too obvious manipulation . I was at the language school at that time with many Muslims and immigrants from other countries . You don't want me to tell what the private comments of students were. You don't want me to tell you what average immigrants think of Americans and how "grateful" they are .
We're not running a campaign here (or are we?) . i can tell you how it is in Detroit . I was expecting that somebody with first hand experience will tell me how it is regardless of what or who Trump is.

I don't mind being ridiculed;)

We might as well pack and go home.
A yank knows more about the UK than us who live here.

Or so he thinks from the crap he quotes.

Every day on this board I see Limeys expressing similar levels of understanding about how things are in the USA...

I can only speak of my personal experience . 8 years ago I was living in a community of Bengali /Pakistanina/Yemenese Muslims. I was smoking hookah on my porch dressed in lungi considering converting from not believing in anything to pretending to believing in Islam just to marry a divorced daughter of my neighbor . Beautiful Girl probably 20 years younger than myself who married the wrong fellow from the wrong clan and in consequence her future and prospects were over, although she was well educated. I am not saying a single negative comment about those people although they are as far from perfect as any other immigration group and better than some.
For the record I don't see a mild form of Sharia law as a problem at all . As a moderate racist and bigot I'm firmly against modern feminists movements.

Hmmm. Sorry Limono, but your scant knowledge of the UK is showing.

I don't pretend to know anything about UK and never said otherwise just asked for YOUR personal experiences in contrast to what Trump is saying. I cited anecdotal references to what my friends cleaning dishes in London were saying and references from first Google page . Really, am I that hard to comprehend ( you can be honest)
Do you have those first hand experiences ANY OF YOU or you don't and rely only on more "reliable " press reports. I asked just that.

We simply go to different parties in different parts of the town but don't worry.
I can suck as well as the rest of attendees here but I prefer to do it on weekends only not all day ,every day , it's far above my level of sophistication.

PS. I'm leaving the forum to improve my factual knowledge and comprehensive skills . My personal experiences are sort of irrelevant so I decided to buy again a full Naim kit and immerse myself in the Britishness to ask the right questions next time.

It's actually very clear:

While there are undoubtedly lots of different councils and tribunals dealing with Sharia principles, they aren’t courts of law.

Most are Sharia ‘councils’ set up to make decisions on purely religious matters, although there are some bodies that mix Sharia principles with legally binding arbitration. But none can overrule the regular courts.

The town of Yorkshire has always been fine whenever I've been and I lived in it for a couple of years (in a little district called Leeds). There are no no go areas in London and few, if any, anywhere else.

Hope this helps,

Rich

Thank You. I can assure you that there are no zombies in Detroit either ..

You can't beat the bestiality of some aspects of American urban life in some areas. It's just beyond any charts and comprehension but what do I know...

If this is true why is it you do not know that there are no such words as 'Pakistanina' or ' Yemenese' ?

>>>The 40-page report, "A Parallel World: Confronting the Abuse of Many Muslim Women in Britain Today," was authored by Baroness Caroline Cox, a cross-bench member of the British House of Lords and one of the leading defenders of women's rights in the UK.

The report shows how the increasing influence of Sharia law in Britain today is undermining the fundamental principle that there must be equality for all British citizens under a single law of the land.

First link in the google , people don't be lazy..
I lived in the small village under communist regime . Happiest memories of my life (childhood ) , I don't recall a single act of oppression and cruelty .
I lived in Detroit and know what communities on the move look like. I dig get advice from friendly Detroit policeman -"do not stop on the red light" in the night in downtown and certain areas. When I admited to my black friend that as a fresh, curious, ignorant immigrant I walked trough certain areas to get a better feeling what ghetto is he said that the reason I was unharmed was they thought that I was an undercover cop. Nobody in his right mind do it there. Was it all that bad , of course not , I love Detroit and always will , NOTOWN will always be my home town. I lived in Chicago where gangs are shooting on the streets every day. It could be as well in another country , I simply have no need to go to those areas of the town. So if you never have been in those parts of London in question and don't have first hand experience or know somebody who does what sense is to comment here?
How about this:

“There are Muslim areas of Preston that, if we wish to patrol, we have to contact local Muslim community leaders to get their permission,” a Lancashire Police officer told the Mail.

Another police office from the town of Yorkshire took it further in an online forum for police.

“I’m not allowed to travel in half blues [uniform] to work anymore IN MY OWN CAR as we’re ‘all at risk of attack’ – yet as soon as someone points out the obvious it’s ‘divisive,” he wrote.

The article in question was published by the Bow Group, which was formed in the 50s as a conservative 'think tank' to challenge the emerging socialist agenda in the UK:

http://www.bowgroup.org/content/welcome-bow-group

They state that they are not aligned with the conservative party (the uk GAP equivalent), but that is a mechanism to allow them to publish the more outlandish ideas and act as a sounding board for public opinion without damaging the conservative party if the idea bombs. You'll find it is full of ex-conservative ministers and prime ministers. Now i've actually no real problem with this, but it certainly shouldn't be seen as a well researched agenda free source of independent info on the state of the UK.

As for feeling safe in London, pick a place and i'll go and photograph it for you, and have a chat with the local people. I'm in my 40s, white, middle class, and London is about the safest place in the world i've ever been. It's brimming with diversity, people getting on with it, mixing it, ducking and diving. Sure, there's an underclass (and it's been growing in recent years which is shocking), but it's poverty that's the enemy, and that cuts through all races and creeds.

As for police saying there are no-go areas, have you spent much time around the police? There are some seriously bigoted police officers with extreme racist views who i'd never associate with. There are also some awesome officers who are providing an amazing social service. So diversity, like elsewhere. Good isn't it?
