Superb! They seem to be much sharper and have greater depth of field than the usual Autochromes that you see from the same period.

The reason is because they are made by taking three b&w photos of the same scene through red, green and blue filters. So 'normal' film could be used rather than the starch grained based Autochrome film.

The big advantage Autochrome had was that the colour image could be printed, rather than having to be projected.

These are great photographs, and I love the look of Autochromes too.
