    What are ground loops?

Also keep in mind that there is more than one ground. You have electrical ground as well as signal ground. I am no expert but try to keep it as simple as possible. Plug all items into same outlet (or one power strip into one outlet to start). Only plug in amp and turntable at first (no streamer...

    Clearaudio cartridges

Most of the wood bodied Clearaudio MM carts are built around an AT body but to call them just rebadged wood be unfair if they are not using the same cantilevers and styli as AT. I have AT and Clearaudio carts all built on same bodies and the Clearaudio IMO outperform the AT counterparts.

Sideways Uni-Pivot Arm, SUPATRAC Blackbird, formerly "Ekos Killer (Price?)"

As an owner/operator of a small manufacturing business I can fully understand the desire to focus on my core business and not on government programs even if they provide 'free' cash/other programs as the time needed to do so outweighs the benefit (in my case) of that time spent on more relevant...

    What Turntables Do You Own?

I sometimes feel guilty about having too many tables - 3 LP12’s a couple of Rock MK2’s and a 1200 MK2. I just want to say a big thx to this group for making me feel absolutely fine and actually in need of more. :)

    New Leak stereo 20

Pretty sure they don't show it as this is where the main difference from original is (circuit board instead of point to point) which is much cheaper construction. Still hats off to get this out the door at this price.

Have dacs changed so much in 10 years.

Just a hunch. In my opinion older dacs sound a lot better now than they actually did back then. The quality of delivered data (via coax for example) has gotten much better than it once was. Older dacs have a harder time dealing with jitter than newer ones so stand to gain large improvements in...

Look gorgeous! Here’s hoping these are better made and last longer than the original.

Neat Critique vs Linn Kann l+II vs LS3/5a

I will be brief (only because I am late for work and someone else will undoubtedly provide good info). Just for context. I own Kan 1’s and ls35a’s. If you have never heard a set of Kan speakers then I reccomend that you DO NOT buy a pair without listening to them yourself (unless you have...

How to identify Linn Klyde B Cartridges?

What I try to take into account with cartridge 'upgrades / comparisons' is that when a new cartridge comes onto the market and is reviewed (by professional or customer upgrading own cart) it is inevitable compared to the outgoing cartridge which will likely have many hours of use on it. So in...

How to identify Linn Klyde B Cartridges?

By this point there is not a decent Asaka or Karma that has not been rebuilt so its all pretty moot! ;) Next time I need work done Iif it lines up I will try and get Karma and Asaka re built at same time so builder can report back if there are any differences between the two in build. Ok Andrew...

How to identify Linn Klyde B Cartridges?

I think you are actually all agreeing with @Enfield boy more than disagree! TO say a Klyde was only slightly better than a knackered Karma is not to say that a Klyde is better than a Karma! I have Troika, Karma, Asaka, Asak and a Klyde. If I had to give one up it would probably be the Klyde.

Neat Critique vs Linn Kann l+II vs LS3/5a

@copersis Youor question might be a bit broad to illicit pertinent responses. The Kan 1 is pretty different to the 2 and the ls35a nothing much like the Kan. The neat is playing a different game all together. Do you currently own one of these mentioned speakers? Give us some context, I am sure...

How to identify Linn Klyde B Cartridges?

I concur on this - send in your Akiva for a re-tip. Goldring do great work. I have a Troika re-built by Goldring on advice from others recommendations. Also a Karma, Asaka and Asak all re-built by VAS in the USA. @Enfield boy if you decide to sell the Akiva please do add it to the Classifieds as...
