New Quad 303/33 lovely, but quiet from turntable

Brilliant, thank you so much for your reply, and everyone else too. I’ve being enjoying my new purchase today and can’t wait to get the utility room decorating finished, so I can do the sitting room, so that I can connect my 57s. Lol, long journey, hope it’s worth it!

Many thanks! Rest assured, there was no shoving! I am wondering why the lead was with, however…it’s working well, so far though…

Thanks for your reply. Sure thing! I did literally gently persuade it, but no dice - if the output is working, that means I haven’t damaged anything, right?! Just sorted the disc sound by rotating the card to M2. This is correct…? So if my turntable is now outputting at a higher level, I don’t...

    Exposure IV or Quad 303/33

Ah, sorted the phono sound by rotating the cartridge to M2. If anyone could elevate my other fears, that would be great!

Firstly, many thanks for all the help I received on my journey to matching this with my new ESL 57s! They are not hooked up yet and unfortunately, I can’t seem to add a picture… If I could pick some brains a little more and help put my mind at rest, please… 1. It was supplied with a 4-pin din...

    Exposure IV or Quad 303/33

(I have posted a new thread about this, just in case this on has run it’s course.) Thanks for all your help, everyone! I thought I’d post a picture of my new equipment, picked up today! (Can’t seem to add pic!?) As you can (can’t!) see, I went for a rather lovely 303/33! If I could pick some...

Thanks folks! Thought the II option was a bit beyond me. No idea about the rest 😀

Yes, thanks, this is the picture I send to be building. Would anyone know what would be involved in going the Quad II route? Would it be (much) better with two of them? What about running costs, valve duration etc.? Any info would be great! Well, good info, obviously :)

    Exposure IV or Quad 303/33

Thanks guys! I was close to pulling the trigger on a 34/306 yesterday, but something stopped me…I am now thinking of sticking with the 303 (Or Quad II!?) for my 57s and then something else (6/7/9) too, eventually perhaps… She will be pleased. Any chance someone would write me a note 🫣

I had just read that they weren’t really a suitable match. Good to know then :)

    Exposure IV or Quad 303/33

Thanks so much for your replies, again! What a super-helpful, friendly bunch you are! Not a bad shout, the 306/34 then. The Boss does prefers (notice I didn’t say like!) the look of the 306 combo, which given she allowed me to keep my new 57s, might just have to swing it that way...

    Exposure IV or Quad 303/33

Gosh! Interesting stuff, at least the bits I understood :) Are there any thought on a Quad 34/306 with 57s…? I’ve discounted the 405 and 405-2, from what I’ve read…

    Exposure IV or Quad 303/33

Thanks. I’d be happy to get the Exposures serviced, but are you saying that it would not be worth the money, as they are not significantly better than the Quad bits? Good info, thanks.

    Exposure IV or Quad 303/33

Wow, thank you to everyone for your thoughts and useful insights! Picked up the speakers and we thought they sounded great. More bassy than I was expecting, based on what I’d read (remember, bit of a audio-noob and certainly never had anything that would be considered decent on here!). Of...

Super Info, thanks. So just not massively loud. Forgive my ignorance, but how would one judge how loud so as not to damage them?!
