Hi, thanks for this offer Coltrane. Can you tell me a little more about the driver you have as I'd obviously need to find a match for the other speaker. Cheers, Uz.
Yip, that's a good point. I did try that and the cones are without resistance. (I knew Royd drivers could get gummy sometimes as I've got a pair of Doublets that suffered until they got a good seeing to, and still have Gromit's lovely Merlins doing a fine job).
Hi. It's been years since I was last here and come seeking help to repair an absolutely gorgeous pair of Royd RR3 (with dedicated stands). They sound shite in brief and I'm not sure where to start. Bass not working, thin and tinny sound. Have searched re replacement drivers etc and not sure...
I don't think vinyl ever looks good. So I suggest you fill, prime, and finish with lots of sanding and a tack rag. Then apply the colour and finish of your choice. I've just picked up an old pair of speakers and will remove the drivers then refinish the once nice veneer cabs with a high-gloss...
I've not heard them but a v experienced friend (of this parish who may see this thread and reply) says they're one of the best speakers he's heard. I've got the M22 Revels and they are very impressive stand mounts.
Solved. The M2Tech uninstaller scripts weren't doing the job. Manually running the commands in terminal however did and then the mac accepted the new M2Tech driver.
please to confirm that M2Tech Young Dac and Pure Music 2.0.2 run without issues in Yosemite.
Thanks to all for their input.
Andy
Audio Midi set to:
use mac for sound output.
44kHz
2ch 24bit integer
downgraded to PureMusic 2.0.1 buit to no avail.
on pressing play track name plates up in PureMusic, sometimes says loading track to memory, DAC switches to appropriate bit rate then nothing.
Not to worry. I'll get there...
