What am I missing with the teddydac?

Will probably upgrade to the moon mind 2 and had planned on upgrading to one of the pro audio dacs: dangerous music convert 2, crane song Solaris, Burl b2 bomber, or a lavry. That was the plan before I began listening to the teddydac.

Innuos - better than a NAIM CDX?

Thanks. Actually did not realise the Zen had digital outs other than usb. That’s good to know.

What am I missing with the teddydac?

Have a nas with about 12,000 albums and using a moon mind 180 connected to the teddydac.

What am I missing with the teddydac?

Ha, ha. Could be eight years. With my TT and reel2reel, just could not convince myself to use it. Now TT is gone, so just digital and tape.

Innuos - better than a NAIM CDX?

Killer Steve: Have a teddydac as well and was thinking about the Innuos. Do you connect it through usb? Got mine before the usb upgrade. More thoughts on the combo.

What am I missing with the teddydac?

Took this out of mothballs about four months ago. Bought it several years ago but never used it because just listened to analogue. Fully expected to need to buy a new dac because I wasn’t sure how it sounded, was left behind by new dacs, or even if it worked. I have to say it sounds great to...

    I was lied to...

Glad you had the patience to read through, Evan. Never heard the Tannoys but look like wonderful speakers. Speakers needed to also work for movies. ‘Yeah, I’m typically above that by quite a bit.

    When it all falls apart...

I would measure it. You can do it simply by downloading an app and playing pink noise 20hz to 20khz. It won’t be as accurate as real measuring tools but will give you some idea of what’s happening in your room.

    When it all falls apart...

Are you guessing or have you measured your room?

    I was lied to...

No, i converted a couple of smaller rooms, but one of the biggest challenges is a ceiling height of about 7.5 feet.

    When it all falls apart...

It could be speakers, amp and/or room, but I would say do room first. It may save you a lot of money in investing in the rest. Once your room is right, then you will know the next decisions are right.

    I was lied to...

I realise I’m fortunate to have a dedicated room. There’s no way my wife would put up with those big JBL’s and acoustic panels all over the living room. But it is where the money should be spent. Vicoustic does have some beautiful panels and solutions, although they are pretty expensive, and...
