Naim does a second Nap250 add much to Nac 52?

That's another good avenue, and vertical (?) biamping could be better than horizontal, which is what the OP is currently trying. Ebay quite often has naim or witchhat sets on for 135s, etc, such as this one with Gotham cable...

Naim does a second Nap250 add much to Nac 52?

Right now the OP has everything he needs to try out in passive mode, including cables. Doesn't get any more simple than that!

You end up with a simple passive biamp setup, both amps produce the full signal range, and the speaker crossover deals with it accordingly, depending on which pair of terminals the amps go to, ie one for the tweeters, the other for bass/ mids.

Should not need a special lead, depending on the age of the hicap, run the amps off sockets 1 and 2, or sockets 2 and 3.

Naim does a second Nap250 add much to Nac 52?

He could try a simple biamp, as he has the 250 now, if the speakers have dual posts, and he has another set of speaker cables. No harm in trying, I found no difference. Saying that, my speakers at the time turned out to be not very revealing (QAcoustic Concept 20).

Naim does a second Nap250 add much to Nac 52?

Only useful if you are running SBLs or similar, as SNAXOs are configured to replace naim external crossovers. FWIW I used to run a 160/250 via a Hicap to a pair of standard biwired speakers, made little difference in my case, but what you are aiming to do would be better in the context of an all...

    What makes a great amplifier?

Totally see where you are coming from, and on face value there is much to be said for applying the idea of starting from a short list of equipment that measures well, and whittling it down from there. I would offer though, that applying a sieve like this discounts a lot of interesting gear that...

    What makes a great amplifier?

This is a more sensible explanation of what I was trying to say. There is a movement in hifi circles that seems to chase a sound that is as 'neutral' and little coloured by the equipment as possible, calling this something like 'accuracy to the artist's original intentions' or some such similar...

    What makes a great amplifier?

Choose the colouration you prefer, in line with your speakers - these come first. They are the pepper, add salt to taste!

Isolating your turntable from your speaker vibration

When I play music from another source, at fairly loud but comfortable levels, I can feel the vibrations in the arm tube of my P6 just holding it with my fingers. One of the speakers is only a couple of feet away from the arm, though it is to the side.

Funk Firm- has anyone contacted Arthur recently?

If you need a quick answer, try giving him a call, I have had a couple of useful chats with him last year. That said, Reading around the forums about Funk and folks who know him well, he is very busy at the moment, and may not have the energy to reply to emails.

    FUNK Firm - HOUDINI

There is a thread on the 'Wam in which Pinkie has given some explanation, but has dropped short at being willing/able to reveal more detail, however, the general principles are to do with coupled oscillators. That's a very interesting parallel, wonder if there is some sort of common ground...

    Headphone amp suggestions

If you use a Hicap, you can run headphones off the 4 pin output socket, Chord made a converter cable with an inline headphone socket. I could not tell the difference between my converter and a Naim Headline 2 into my Senn 6xx, so I sold the headline. I guess if you don't use a Hicap, someone...
