    Kan cabinet refurb

I have seen a lot of Kans and have several pair-some early, yet I have never seen the very rare first edition Kans that were made from plywood. Those would be very rare. That said, my work in restoring antiques has taught me that sanding can usually be avoided. I avoid sanding if at all possible.

Bolt Down Naim NAP 250 power connector

I found that picture and a few others. It does look like a XLR.

Bolt Down Naim NAP 250 power connector

What is the two pin power connector that was used on the early Naim bolt down NAP 250?

Nap 135 help: self-muting and fan adjustment

If you can change the amps left for right, that will really help narrow this down. I am guessing that the problem will stay in the same channel. But it's just a guess. This is certainly a very puzzling problem.

QUDOS - the brilliant new amplifier boards from Avondale

I would never have guessed that this may be an issue. I do have communications with Les and will certainly communicate with him about this. Thanks so much for offering this as a possible explanation.

QUDOS - the brilliant new amplifier boards from Avondale

Thanks so much Graham, I look forward to working through all the information you suggested. That NCC200 build thread looks to be quite extensive. Thanks also for all of your kindness in helping me gather parts together for this project.

QUDOS - the brilliant new amplifier boards from Avondale

If it would be no trouble, a BOM for the 200/220 would be much appreciated. Thanks so much for offering.

Brik tweeters - anyone got anything?

I first heard about these being available from someone who replaced the tweeters in a pair of early Kan's. He used the version without ferro-fluid. I believe that is the version that was used originally in the Kan's.

Brik tweeters - anyone got anything?

If the original tweeters were the Scan-Speak D2008, these are currently available for $75.70 USD. They are listed on the Madisound web site, which is in the USA.

    The Naim sound for £1k

I would try one of the preamps that use the 300 series cards (12,32,72) and a NAP 110. I have both a 110 and 140. They are very similar amps, but I much prefer a good 110. They are essentially the same amp except with different power supplies.

Anyone running a Naim 160 Chrome Bumper ?

+1 for the RSL plug ins. I have them in my NAC 12. These boards take the preamp up a step or two. The remote volume control is also quite nice and who would expect a remote on that modest little bolt down shoe box 12.

    NAIM NAP125 HELP

I have a NAC 22 and NAP 120 that look similar to the units in the picture, but the power amp case is slightly different. My 120, is the later version, with the toroidal transformer and an on/off switch on the front. The rectifier and caps would be relatively easy to find. I am putting new...
