A light-hearted what would you change if you could thread

But then it wouldn’t need to be every Sunday, just one Sunday. And indeed, there would be no more Sundays after that.

Can we keep air and gravity going, please?

Sick of touchscreens in cars? Maybe good news is coming.

This is a significant risk. We know that people will use their phones, send texts or browse social media etc, when driving even though this is illegal. Do we imagine they won’t operate cars’ menu controls while in motion if there’s a service they want to access?

    Labour Leader: Keir Starmer VII

But then neither are any of the other options, whether viable or fanciful choices, so what are we to do? At some point, you have to vote for the team that is selling what you want.

Quick fun Q - In Japan - should I pick up a new cartridge while here?

I gather Lyras are quite difficult to get hold of over here ATM, so one of theirs might be worth considering.

    Replacing Epos ES14s

That's a good shout. I really like what those little guys can do.

Tory leadership failure Part V: Rishi ‘Infosys’ Sunak

The way I read it, Labour is positioning itself to fill that void. It will tell itself that this is in the national interest because it is resetting the clock back to the Thatcher era, which is significantly to the left of the May/Johnson axis. It probably isn't admitting to itself that it is...

A light-hearted what would you change if you could thread

It's interesting - we've been watching re-runs of To The Manor Born, and Yes Prime Minister on BBC recently and TTMB definitely hasn't aged well. It's not so much that the jokes are off colour by today's standards, but that the whole premise of the programme (posh person slowly learns to get on...

    PFM Site Default Font Change?

I'm in the process of moving to a new Windows machine - a Win 11 laptop from a Win 10 mini desktop. The new machine shows the pages in a slightly different font (unread posts and thread titles are a little more bold than before) and I'd assumed it was just a Win 11 thing (both machines are using...

Put the buttons for pedestrian crossings at ground level so hedgehogs can use them.

Post-Trump: III (decline, further tantrums, legal proceedings, book deals etc)

The problem is, ISTM, that the presidency is more about popularity than it is about capability. People vote for the man - he is their man - rather than for what the man will do in office and how well he will handle the office. It’s a development of the party loyalty thing, where people vote...

Why the world cannot afford the rich

Thing is, we already have no shortage of neighbours who don't like us, and our power structures are pretty vulnerable ATM, so any additional risk has to be weighed up in that context.

Road Tax question - help needed please

Can he tax the car, then cancel the tax in May and obtain a refund of the unused tax (as he would if selling the car)? Then re-tax from fresh.

"Filament" type LED bulbs fail much more than the other kind (?).

Until this thread I didn’t even know candescent was an actual word! Still less that it means the same as incandescent. I am incredulous and inconsolable, it’s intolerable.
