    Townshend Audio - Seismic Podiums

Maybe we could try the Turin test to see if the OP is written by AI or from a Human.

    Steve Guttenberg

Back to the subject, here's his latest interview. You might think David Chesky would be plugging his record company, but he spends most of his time talking about his recording technique. I found the most interesting thing was his appreciation of his daughter (who is a recording artist) wanting a...

How To Audition Hi-Fi Gear - Tips and Trips

I've heard many demonstations at dealers and Hi Fi shows. I'm always suprised how there are very few that I want to hear to the end of the piece of music being played. The acid test then is, do I want to listen to this stuff?

I have found that many reissues of classic albums are not as good as the originals. The term "re-mastered" often means "ruined" to my ears, especially when the original was mono and it has been reprocessed for stereo.. I recently bought a new anthology of Dinah Washington labeled as "Audiophile"...

I believe Peter Walker of Quad fame, had it right when he said, "Every piece of music sounds best when played at the same level as when played live" He was referring to unamplified music ,from which I take that we play music too loud.

Darko podcast podcast 10 hi-fi myth with Peter Comeau

Was it really 2 hours, but worth it. You can listen as background but Commeau divulges much of the process of designing Hi Fi, especially his field which is loudspeakers. Unfortunatly near the end. He says he struggles to measure the artifacts (faults) he hears because they are in the time...

    John Devore measurement rant

Just for the record, I could not disagree with a word he said, I especially liked his final comment, likening good musical representation to impressionist painting.

    External crossovers .. educate me

This may sound like "foo" to this community, but my JBl K2 crossovers were in a tray which had some rubber feet isolation from the cabinets. Taking these trays out of the cabinets and giving them better isolation using Aurios ball bearing isolators greatly improved the sound.
