PFM Help Sought: Choose my son's final eight...

    4. for me, it's looking out into an uncertain future, the tops and bottom of the structure leading your eye to the vagueness and threat beyond, your last view of the world, trapped inside a modernist, brutalist structure a part in the machine of war. It reminds me a bit of Koudelka or Peter...

Leica look on video - Ripley...

JTC, Leitz do make cine prime lenses so you maybe correct, quite a few rental places do them now, i find it amusing that they are engineered to have a subtle vignetting and less resolution towards the edge of the frame, that will explain the softness if they are the lenses used. There some...

Has anyone bought a product because of a recommendation on ASR?

I've got some monoblocks they recommend, i've had them years before ASR, the amps are competent enough and fine into some types of speaker, but are hard sounding with speaker like LS50s etc. I think it's important the the reviewer listens to the amps in different contexts not just measured...

Leica look on video - Ripley...

I think Elswitt is quite keen on his Panavision lenses, i've not watch the series yet but just watched the trailer and it looks a bit soft pointing to older lenses. Stills photographers seem to go gaga over German and Japanese lenses, but for those that don't know, quite lot of cinematographers...

    The 2024 Formula One Season

It all cyclic, the Japanese domination has ended and the European manufacturers have taken over. I think the problem is the Japanese manufacturers lack the vision they once had and don't really build interesting bikes anymore, at least a bike i'd want to buy. Could be a good season though if...

    The 2024 Formula One Season

Have you watched a Moto GP race lately, the races are dull as ditchwater, all the bikes have advanced aero/ground effects now and shapeshifter ride high adjusters, riders can't follow or overtake each other because of loosing front downforce and overheating brakes. The are in effect two wheel F1...

    Sports car chat

Yes i've get this, i think to a lot of people the Elise looks like some kind of flash Ferrari or something, you get a completely different reaction in a Caterham that people think looks like Brum (despite it being twice as fast and bordering on being the much more antisocial car).

    Sennheiser HD 650

Finally got some OEM ear pads for the 650s, i had some leather ones from Amazon but they were always going moldy, fitted the new ones with a bit of squeezing. Anyhoo anyone got any recommendations for a headphone amp for the HD's, using them with the MDAC headphone out but it's getting past it's...

    Sports car chat

The Elise feels like a limo compared to a Caterham ;) although i suppose it depends what spec the Caterham is. Caterhams are a great great driving experience, not unlike driving a formula Junior, utterly remarkable the design is nearly 70 years old! Probably as good as it gets as a pure...

    Time for a motorbike list

Smashing Graham, what model Bimota is that? I remember the Tesi which was an interesting bike. Buell looks great my friend had one he lent me for a while, it had an issue with the engine that was difficult to fix? but it's so long ago now i can't remember what the issue was. Always fancied some...

    Euro parks fine

My friends young son (7) was rushed to hospital for a suspected heart attack, i got to the hospital shortly after and paid for the ticket, I can't remember what company it was now, unfortunately partly through worry and in a rush, i accidentally put a O where it should have been an 0 for my...

The John Westlake/Lakewest MDAC/FDAC, VFET and Detox

Please remeber that some members paid over £6000 for VFETS etc. I know one of members who forked out for VFETs in good faith has since died.

Yep, cars and trucks can be a pain to work on.

Makes sense, i'm all for mechanics feel a bit of locktite or lock wiring, i love looking at the insides of airforce planes and jet engines with the cowling off, all the exotic pipes and fasteners, rarely do you see such quality on a car, unless its a race car.
