Perilously close to ebay now. I'll accept £3000 for the 1200G and £8500 for the Naia.
Since I'm not flying to another show for quite a while I've also offered my Opera Wax Engine with SUPATRAC Blackbird here...
I bought this deck last week to use at the US AXPONA show in Chicago and I made a Blackbird with a custom arm pillar for it. It was superb (on the Sunday when we finally got the system set up right!). I wanted an affordable high-performance deck which was light and easy to fly with. My next...
Not my design. A Polish turntable maker at Munich last year was quite taken by the Blackbird and asked if he could display one on his deck. His turntables were quite over the top in terms of design. Definitely for those who like a bit of bling.
Probably no lighter due to power supply case and I didn't fancy flying to a US show with a ceramic bearing and platter. I could not have packed the Naia the way I packed the Wax Engine. The Naia is not a traveller's deck.
Yes - I took an Opera Wax Engine to AXPONA as I'm trying to lighten my flight case. The 1210G is too much for my temperamental back injury as the case comes in well over 30kg. It's a great little deck - more or less a stripped-down Well Tempered. The arm bearings it came with were shockingly...
I remove the lid too, but not everybody does. It was important to me that the arm could play a full side under the lids of Rega, Technics and Linn decks and this imposed quite restrictive constraints on the design. It is why I chose to shoe-horn the mechanism into the very limited space under...
I stil have not had time to put either of these decks on Ebay, but I am close. This is probably the last chance to pick these up at what may well be less than market rate. Don't be shy with offers...
Thanks for your interest Mike - I'm in central London and the 1210G is still available. I wouldn't hesitate to post it as I still have the original box and packaging. They are built like tanks. I would of course supply the deck with the platter and counterweights removed as originally supplied...
I can't believe everybody is suggesting that all three arm collar bolts need the same torque. The ratio, orientation and aggregate of torques is critical to musicalityfulness. You boys have a lot more experimenting to do. Amateur. Shocking, even.
;-)
He said something was coming which would interest me, but not that. As you say this does not rule out that.
He said they basically put the SP-10R power supply into the GR2. I asked if that would happen with the G and I think he sort of implied that it wasn't necessary on the G and wouldn't...
