    Audio Synthesis passive preamps

So have I, then I thought about asking David at AS about the Desire being an upgrade to the 606. His reply just came in: "The Passion does work very well with the Quad 606. Impedances and sensitivity of the power amplifier match to the Passion perfectly. I’m not sure you would experience better...

    Audio Synthesis passive preamps

Just replaced my tisbury with a passion. Together with a 606mkii it makes for a simpletastic combination and has me wanting to try the matching Desire amp someday and now you got me curious about what I'll find inside and if I can make it sound even better ;-)

Anyone know of a Solid State amp that sounds like a Valve amp?

Interestingly I am walking down that path too, currently running either an Audio Research tube amp with an Audible Illusions preamp or an Airtight integrated and I'm looking to lessen my "tube addiction" and fit some SS for when the warmer days come. As stated above an amp that does it all is...

    JR149/150 speakers

I paid 320£ for my gold pair in pristine condition some years ago, then another 150£ for their sibling "egg". Many speakers have come and gone here but along with my LS3/5a's the JR's will never go

    JR149/150 speakers

I'd say yes, they are always rewarding and with the right amp they can even be stellar, mine are stuck in my living room system just because madame wants them there with her and that's not just for their looks :)

    Revisiting Jim Rogers JR149s

The metal grilles are hard stapled on mine and not at all easy to remove without damage. With "deporting" I meant disuniting the crossover enclosure from the bottom of the cabinets, supposedly acting like a bell when left on.

    Revisiting Jim Rogers JR149s

over on the LS35a French forum a guy swears (and I trust his ears) that cutting out the metal grill in front of the T27 and deporting the crossover makes them really sing, anyone with a spare pair to try it out?

    Revisiting Jim Rogers JR149s

I own both LS3/5a and JR149, the 11ohm LS3 carries the SP1228 while the JR carries the SP1003

reactivating this thread as I am currently looking for Ferrofluid in user quantities to revive a pair of Kef T33 tweeters. I have contacted Ferrotec https://www.ferrotec.com/products/ferrofluid/audio/ but have not received an answer, if anyone knows where to supply these kits in Europe, I'd be...
