Electrofluidics Monolith and Goertz cables were available about 20 years ago, there were copper and silver versions.
I also recall them being used with LV speakers
The late Allen Wright also wrote the SuperCable Cookbook which described how to DIY flat ribbon cables
Yes, I do have a pair of these, in white. Sensitive, easy to drive, lots of fine detail and resolution but not at the expense of body and tone, very coherent integration between the drivers, and you can hear every upstream change very clearly.
I have a suspended wooden floor over a void, I chose to damp the floor by fitting acrow props under each speaker.
Coupled with a reasonably basic isolation of the speakers from the from resulted in a large reduction in floor activity.

In August I visited DUG, Flamingo (spendy and v quiet, but nice high class cocktail bar) and Eagle
Eagle was about the music, DUG was a really relaxed busy bar with music
The best article I have read on grounding is this on diyaudio

I have had a CDP-X5000 since 1997 and it's a really nice thing to use. The inbuilt dac sounds nice, if a bit lightweight, and I always preferred filter 3. I have also used it as a transport with an external dac, and it works really well. As Tony said the buttons can get a bit flaky.
OMA had a very entertaining system at Munich last year, including that arm and turntable, console table, and built in phono stage. I found it very enjoyable. Not necessarily totally natural or totally coherent, but certainly far more enjoyable to sit and listen to for a period of time than many...
Ours was gifted from my parents, but I shelled out on a new roof, battery and wipers, which came to about £1250, and could really do with the wheels refurbished and some tlc on the paint, but itnis fun
