Hi Alan, I have finally started the cap substitution on my R2R. If you don't mind I will probably ask a few questions here and there form time to time. The firs though is : what did you use to clean the circuits boards ?

I would go for it.
Here is an example of what can be done if you are "pretty good with my hands"; and if you have a friend that can spray the result will be even better.

Sorry Alan I forgot to ask: Which MRL test tape did you use for the calibration? the 250 nWb/m (+3 dB) or the 355 nWb/m ("+6 dB") ? Does the system manage these values?

After all the changes I made the sound is good but will time to settle down. The high frequency is sweet but not prominent.
One thing for sure you need a powerful amp with lots of current in it. That way you can control the speakers better.

At first I through of using an hammerite paint then decided on this external metal paint. I would ha liked to have it sprayed but I did not know anybody with the kit so I went for brush finishing (ok but not recommended)
