Very interesting, I’ve not heard the Rega Elicit MK5 but wonder how the sound compares to the MK4 and previous versions of the Elicit.

I’ve been using one of these to power my Linn Sondek LP12 for many years, very pleased and won’t be changing it. A great value for money upgrade. I can switch from 33 1/3 rpm to 45rpm at the push of a button.

Also no Heed Audio on the list, I did enjoy their room a number of years back, sounded really good I recall.

Heed Questar I have used and was really impressed.

I’ve not heard one but the Roksan Blak has had good reviews. Exposure are expected to launch their full width cd player, it was at the Bristol Hifi show.

Heed Obelisk worth considering, I have the mk2 version, the Mk3 is slightly more powerful. I’ve not had a tube amp myself but have read that the Heed has similar qualities.

I have the Obelisk Mk2 but also use an Exposure 2010S The Heed gets me really listening to what’s being played, kind of draws me in to the music, if that is what is meant by the term engaging then I guess the Heed is more engaging of the two amplifiers. The higher frequencies are sweet...

My Naim CD5X bought from new around 17 years ago and I’ve never had an issue with it, plays HDCD too.

How did the CD5X compare with the Rega and was the FlatCap used with the Naim? I assume it was the Saturn you replaced the Naim with?
