Yes, that's true. Perhaps one day I'll try a Topping when I happen to set up a 2nd or 3rd system. Currently I rotate 2 DACs in the main system as I do not have space for a 2nd system (some surplus amps and speakers sitting around doing nothing at the moment).
3m x 4m room I would stick with standmounts. Personally I prefer standmounts over floorstanders even in larger rooms. There are small, medium and large standmounts. The standmounts I own are medium sized with 7.5" and 8" drivers.
I was actually looking at a Topping DAC, the highest range or 2nd top model sometime last year after reading all the glowing reviews. Fortunately I didn't proceed with it.
I stuck with my trusty Chord QBD76 which is currently my main DAC, and Luxman DA-06.
Good to know. Can you provide a short review on the comparison between this cable and the current ones that you own (hopefully some branded good ones). I've previously used NACA5 and Chord Epic, now on Chord Signature XL.
One of the seven reviews revealed poor quality broken plug.
"The cables sounded very good. But the pins in the plugs were easily bent, and have to be replaced after a week or so of testing. In fact the pins were so thin and weak they were broken off at both the speaker connection and the amp...
Sound quality aside, you have to consider that the 122x and 150x are very old so may need a service if the owner has not done it for 20 years.
I'm not sure how do the 122x/150x compare to the current Nait 5SI but have read that the 122x/150x together with flatcap sound better than the Nait XS...
Yes, that should be a good accurate description of both speakers. It's true the Marten although rather small require space to sound good. I currently have them 1.8m apart limited by the width of the room and suspect they will sound even better if it's >2.0m. The R1 Arrete are said to deliver in...
Someone on the Naim forum owns both Audiovector R1 Arrete and Marten Parker Duo Diamond used in different rooms. Yes, different sound signatures.
A Proac DB1 user also recently upgraded to the R1 Arrete and found the latter to be more analytical (in a good way), precise and detailed...
Does anyone have experience with Audiovector R1 Arrete speakers? Interested to know how do they compare to the Marten Duke 2.
Also, what are the differences between the Signature, Avant-garde and Arrete versions of the R1.
Reviews and links to purchased cables would be appreciated. I usually don't buy Chinese made cables and don't need any at the moment but may consider paying decent money for one that can rival originals costing up to £5k.
The only Chinese-made cable I have is a 3m length mains power cable...
I"m not sure but I read in a review the Auvas are used between speakers and stands (Harbeth Compact 7ES XD), and the sound improvement is audible. The equivalent is the Isoacoustics Orea which does the same thing.
