Thank you all for your replies. The stub on my hadcock 242 super silver is a screw in black stub. The arm was purchased in 2002. I relayed this information to John Choong and he commented that the black stub is larger than the silver one will enlarge the collar.

I expect this may have been asked before. Will the xtc counter weight fit on this arm? I have looked on eBay and JC has one advertised as for a 228/ 242. I have no way of accurately measuring the diameter of the counter weight shaft to ensure it will definitely fit. Thanks in advace

Do speaker cables when taken out of a system for a length of time degrade sound wise? Hence require burn in, if you believe such a thing exists, when putting the cables back in the system. Any thoughts.

Received my gloss black STA15 just over a week ago. Agree Will does a nice job. Still settling in with sound opening up. Not sure what the time span for burn in, if you believe such a thing. Using MFA classic V2 into LV IBX-RW

I used Northwest Analogue to repair suspension on my shelter 901. Very pleased with the result. Dominic Harper at Northwest Analogue was very helpful.

Do cd’s deteriorate over time. I did go through a period of streaming ripped cd files. I came back to listening to cd’s via a transport and dac. Glad I did, for me the sound is much more enjoyable.

I am fortunate to still have a AT637 which has served me well for many years. Now used dry due to reason in my previous post.

I have used stylus cleaning fluid in the past, but I no longer use it since I had my shelter 901 repaired due to damaged suspension and some slight corrosion on the cartridge yolk. It was suggested that cleaning fluid may have been responsible.
