Mine arrived today too, looks like a nice piece of kit, not tested yet. Thanks for organising Alan.

    Amplifier Transformer Group Buy

Just caught up with this thread - Matt black tape and pot for me please if it's not too late, otherwise I'll take any colour you like!

Any chance of adding an 11th to the order? I see a Hackernap-type amp in my future...

Paralleled Output trannies - NCC and HackerNAP

Les always said that the NCC200 with BUV20 output devices gave "The power and the glory" - I discovered recently that BUV20s are dual-die devices, so technically they're parallel outputs.

    Ebay audio kits - opinions

I've just received my 1:1 clone kit as linked to by Alan above. The boards are good quality, and the components appear to be kosher. Pairs of transistors are in separate plastic bags, but I haven't checked if the pairs are actually matched yet. There's even 2 AVX bestcaps included for the...

    250 speaker cable-a conundrum

I think I'm right in saying that the coil/resistor can be fitted instead of the 0R22 resistor usually found on the output - bottom left green resistor on the photo in post #7 above. This makes the mod dead simple and completely reversible.

    Grand Master Flash NCC200 build

Hi Shaun, SWMBO usually does the gardening around here. She only calls me in when the going gets tough, like today digging out a small tree... I've used the PRPs in pre-amps before with good results, and the extra few quid added to the build cost seemed worth it to me. I suppose that's...

    Grand Master Flash NCC200 build

Sorry about the photos, I'm just getting used to Photobucket. I checked that I could still see them after organising into folders, but maybe they were cached somewhere.... Hopefully they are restored now, and here's a better view of the Double-Decker construction: Excuse the messy...

    Grand Master Flash NCC200 build

Hi Shaun, Congrats on an excellent Voyager build, I'll be well pleased if my dual-mono clone turns out anything like yours! Modules and Power supplies are built and tested, there's just some casework and cabling to finish before the big day: I've used a Double-Decker layout for the...

Feedback resistor values in bolt-down NAP250

Thanks Guys, I'll replace them with the same values but low noise / precision jobbies.

Feedback resistor values in bolt-down NAP250

I was just carrying out some acoustica mods to my bolt-down NAP250, and noticed that the feedback resistors have different values to all the NAP, NCC or HackerNAP schematics I've ever seen. Using the acoustica schematic as reference...

    AKSA 55 amp

I've been down almost exactly the same road as Andy, starting with the AKSA 55 Nirvanas and upgrading to Lifeforce 55s. I agree completely with his assessment, having owned a Bolt-down Naim 250 before the AKSAs. One small caveat - Hugh spends an awful lot of time on parts selection and...

Sonos zp90 clock and power supply

I've implemented a Flea / Tent clock in the ZP80 to good effect. It was a bit of a squeeze to fit it in though, the PSU/Flea/clock board sits under the other boards with some plastic removed from the internal bracing. Colin, you have the details via PM. Agree about the iPad interface - I've...
