    Advice needed for Cello

I was going to go to the local primary school where my daughter used to have lessons (her mum has taken her to live in Doncaster, I live in cardiff so not in control of her lessons anymore) to ask advice from the the music teacher. No offence taken to obvious questions, I don't take offence...

    Advice needed for Cello

Hello, I've just bought a second hand stentor1 cello for my daughter which did not come with a bow. I ordered a new bow (forenza, £25 on ebay) but the cello doesn't make a sound when i use the new bow. I've never used a bow with this cello as it did not come with one and am wondering if the...

    Anybody from Doncaster?

Hello I’m looking to buy a small house somewhere in or around Doncaster (within a 10 mile radius of hatfield) and have no knowledge of the area as I live in Cardiff. My children are being taken to Doncaster by their mum to live and the only way I can realistically continue to spend quality...

    Dodgy electricity meter?

Hi all, I was wondering if anybody with knowledge of electrical networks/experience with faulty electrical supply could offer me any advice. I have a digital electricity meter with a red light that blinks. The more electricity I am using the faster the red light blinks. This suggest to me...

    Densen beat 100 alternatives

I really fancy trying a Densen Beat 100 secondhand. Currently using a pair of Kan Mark I and was wondering what alternatives might be recommended before I take the plung. Can a Rega brio challenge it, are there any others in this category I might be better off with driving the Kans? Any advice...

    My new drug, Preston reed.

we were kinda thinking the same before we went in to see him play. My mate said he had been checking him out on youtube the night before and after being initially impressed started to fear that it was a bit samey and could get very boring very quickly. It wasn't the case when watching him live...

    My new drug, Preston reed.

I was invited by a mate of mine to go and watch Preston Reed in the Cardiff Chapter arts centre last night. I'd never heard of him before but the bastard has now weaved such a spell on me that I can't stop thinking about his playing. One of the cleverest guitar players I have ever seen. Check...

best bang for buck cheap system...

Best bang for buck contenders are definitely a&r Cambridge a60 and heybrook HB2. Both can be had for peanuts considering their performance. With a budget of upto £500 however, you'd be mad not to consider a secondhand pair of AVI ADM9. Active speakers with built in dac and pre/power amps. They...

Should I buy new vinyl or the CD?

To my ears it is just pot luck. Some new releases sound good, others sound shit. I stopped buying new vinyl years ago as it was too expensive to justify the inconsistent results. Saying that though, When vinyl is at the top of it's game it's by far the most enjoyable source for me. I now use...

    Cambridge A&R a60 query

Thanks for the help Quote Feeding it with a compact disk-which wasn't around back then- will give it almost 500x the voltage it was designed to cope with. Very few amplifiers (?none) have that sort of headroom. Might I have damaged it with my ignorance?
