Old and new Mini next to each other

In the BL days a car that size should have been called Maxi.

Car buying; does anyone enjoy it?

I'm very specific about changing the brake fluid, because in the long run it saves money. In my youth I didn't change the fluid (I did everything myself) because nobody told me I should. Result? When I took my then car out of winter hibernation one year, the things in one caliper pushing the...

High end speaker cables from Ali Express

'High end'. Does that mean one end of the cable must be kept higher than the other?

Car buying; does anyone enjoy it?

My dad's Passat, ca 1977 after some very hard full throttle, hard braking action. I was 18 and silly. A younger me did a lot of track days. Never had any fades, not even on a full 14 mile lap around the Nordschleife. I suffered glazing of the pads after the track time was over. Once. I'm very...

    Paris 2024

But, the most important question we all want an answer to: Who will be awarded with 'Official Camera of the MMXXIV Olympic Games'?

Is our world becoming more cruel?

I was thinking of starting a thread about this subject, what was better in the olden days. Then I sat down and thought about and couldn't find much, if anything.

    Wilson-Benesch GMT One Turntable

With that price I would expect it to have proper wheels, not just bicycle ones with three laps of electrical tape masquerading as tires.

That money, and you don't even get a proper remote?

So, it's actually possible, in this day and age, to get wheels with a sane dimension. And even proper steel rims!!!! There is still hope.

TV/Movie adaptations that are so much worse than the source material.

I think it's easier to count the film/TV adaptations that was a success, as there are very few I can think of. - Brideshead revisited (the ca 1980 TV series). One of the best books written and the best TV-series ever! - Bullit. Yes, there is a book and I tried to read it. Need I say more? - The...

    Do men drink cocktails?

I haven't followed this thread, so it might have been mentioned already, but there is something called Pornstar Martini! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porn_star_martini

    Any love for MX5’s?

An 1998 MX5 was my highest 'fun to drive ' ratio car as it was my first open top sports car. Nothing will ever beat that first, sunny summer in that car. It also included my first visit to a famous German race track.

    Any love for MX5’s?

Yes. I was smiling at your expression. It's of course completely idiotic having a car like that. Even more idiotic that it's legal in my part of the world. But, in todays Sweden, 15 year young can drive a car. Legally.
