    Speakers for NAIM

My experience is the exact opposite. My Naim amp's hated being fed by a conditioner!

    [FS] Heco Direkt Dreiklang

    I reckon they'd fit!

    Advice/recommendation for lean sounding amp.

I had a 10W T amp many years ago, then a couple of DIY mono-blocks, Roksan Oxygen & Jeff Rowland Continuum 2. I still have the latter two.

    Advice/recommendation for lean sounding amp.

I would also second looking for a class D amp. I've owned four and can say the bass is lean & detailed. I found I could get away with a louder volume and not annoy the neighbours. Class D amps also tend to be super fast and have blacker backgrounds in my experience.

    ZENith MKIII or Innuos Statement

I own the Zenith mk3, Chord m scaler & Dave. I found the ifi micro usb 3.0 made a very worthwhile upgrade to sound by improving the definition. The ifi has made improvements in my previous setups as well.

    Calling all cable non believers

I'm trying to get hold of some of this cable so I can make a couple of BNC cables to go between my M Scaler & Dave. It's bugging me the companies that sell it online charge a stupid amount to post it so I'm cutting my nose off to spite my face really by not ordering it! I guess I will sooner or...

what was the last piece of hifi you bought

My latest purchases where three bamboo chopping boards from Tesco (£6.50 each) & three packs of Moongel clear drum dampeners to use as isolation boards under my dac, m-scaler & streamer. A worthwhile improvement for just over £50. Prior to that I've fairly recently bought Chord Sarum speaker...

Kit that, irrationally, you’ve always just wanted…

I've always wanted a pair of Sound-Lab A3's. Utterly impractical but I just have the want.

Addis pads - probably the greatest single upgrade ever…in the world!

I'd suggest making sure the spikes are all tightly fixed to the speakers so they can't loosen up (no loose nuts to rattle etc). This will also help couple them to the granite slab. Put the pads under each spike so that it prevents wobble as they dig in, this should at least improve sound stage...

    HiFi Rack for non-turntable system

A cheap way to sometimes improve your system is to place your kit on squash balls. Being made of rubber they damp vibrations fairly well so maybe give that a go. If there's no difference you haven't spent much and can rest easy knowing the stand you're using is fine. EDIT: Forgot to say most of...

Naims 552dr not so good after all

Dac straight in to power amps has been my preferred set up ever since I first tried it with a Chord Hugo. It's one box less, shorter signal and gives better resolution. Down side can be it can sound a bit dry and lacking some body if you don't get it right. It just becomes a case of careful...
