What makes vinyl special to you?

I’m all in on CDs nowadays, but like the sound of vinyl on some masterings. Can do without the faff of vinyl though.

What is the worst recorded piece of vinyl that has ever laid eyes on your platter?

I have that album, handed down from family. Never played it, but will give it a listen.

Is it time to cash out of vinyl?

You could just subscribe to a streaming service.

    Show Us Your Headphone(S)

My main setup: LaFigaro 339i amp, Beyer DT1990 Pro or T1.2 headphones Sources are the Audiolab cd transport into a Topping D70s Dac & a Rpi4 running Ropiee xl to the Gustard U18 DDC, IIS to the Dac.

Poll : Dedicated Music Streamer vs Laptops

I’m happy using a rpi4 with a LPS, running Ropiee, USB into a Gustard U18 DDC & Topping D70s DAC. Not looking to spend more on any streamer except a DAC upgrade in the future.

    Bayerdynamic comparison

DT1990 pro are my go-to headphones, even though I own the Beyer T1.2. I find them great to listen to from my BH CRACK or LaFigaro 339i tube amps. No desire to ‘upgrade’.

    Warning: cheap mains plugs

Anker are excellent. They are the only company I will use for anything I need in aftermarket cables and chargers both for android and apple.

There’s a new streamer in town.

oh yeah, you are correct, it does say that, even though it’s not a streaming dac and is meant to be connected to one…. Whoever wrote that needs to do some revision.

There’s a new streamer in town.

    Indeed there is!

There’s a new streamer in town.

Wouldn’t be hard at all for them. Given time, it hasn’t been released yet. I’m pretty sure they are computer literate.

Rock solid in mine. Never had an issue.

There’s a new streamer in town.

I totally understand. Some of us are computer illiterate. Ropieee is guaranteed to work with Roon, that’s why it was developed for the pi platform. It doesn’t need to be approved. It really isn’t hard to flash a new image to an sd card.

There’s a new streamer in town.

Just install Ropieee. Easy to swap out sd cards. You then have a Roon endpoint.

There’s a new streamer in town.

Doesn’t Volumio act as an endpoint to Roon? Other operating systems can be used theoretically.

I2S output would have been nice.
