My Elac server has improved since upgrading my internet to fibre, I also use IP over mains connection which I suspect does not match the Elac Ethernet connection as well as a direct cable link to the internet router would.

Transformers provide isolation of ground related noise, making some source components sounding better than a direct connection. My speculation after getting a MFA preamp. Which made both my phonostage and digital source sound better and with less hash.

I found a Musical First Preamp improves the sound of all my source items. I suspect it is something todo with the transformer isolating ground between source and power amp. I have used it with headphone and amplifier with a passive volume control built in and picks the sound nicely from those.

I have a pair of FS207A. They are best as TV and audio speakers as their bass and clarity on speech is excellent. They like current and a good amplifier. Suspect a Hypex type amp would be ideal. I use Totem Staff for dedicated non TV stereo. Totems can not do the bass, volume or treble but have...
