    E.L.P. vs. Yes. Who's the best ?

I was a fan of The Nice (Five Bridges was a cool underarm accessory) and so gravitated towards ELP, buying albums going to concerts, putting the free posters of the band from the weeklies on my wall etc, but still bought Yes albums as well and "The Yes Album" was always a pleasure to play - it...

    Gerry Conway RIP

Had no idea he was seriously ill. Always a quiet person but solid and imaginative backbone for whoever he played with. I must try to find a recording and live discography to see how many I have forgotten over the years

    Free: Heartbreaker.

Yeah, not a bad album with some decent tracks as you stated but it had so much to live up to from previous releases and the internal problems just compounded the future direction (if any) of the band. Always a great show and FWIW my own favourite album is "Free Live" complete with botched drum...

    Record Shops

Tom's is excellent and he is a jazz specialist. There is also one in a "Fairtrade" shop in the town and one up an alleyway near The Castle but it has so much stock firmly wedged in the crates that browsing becomes difficult. If you approach Hay on Wye from the Tenbury area, then Leominster also...

    Lounge chair for listening

Have had Ekornes Stressless chairs for about 20 years and would buy again - BUT do not get white leather if you wear denim jeans! Height is adjustable on many models and seating position can be tailored to own preference so that ears are above headrest section. It should be remembered that they...

A thread for forthcoming vinyl releases...

I must have just caught the van to the airport - ordered 21 Jan, delivered 10 minutes ago. Surprised at both the speed of delivery (based upon past purchases) and also the low number - 0860 / 5000

Birth of the Cool on vinyl

I don't know about its "authenticity" but Rough Trade UK had BOTC on sale price at £14.99p plus p&p yesterday.

    Jazz Guitarist Recommendations.

Amazon Prime have Wes Montgomery's "Incredible Guitar Of" on vinyl at £13.99p today. Music is course excellent but this gets good reviews as a competent pressing as well.

    100% Faultless Albums

I would agree with many of the picks on here to a point but even the Aja / DSOTM etc classics (for me) have skippable tracks on CD. On VINYL it is different of course - all that hassle of getting up and cueing instead of listening to 5 extra minutes of whatever keeps you in the seat. So for me...

Little audio Co moving to Balsall Common west mids

A lot easier to access by car than The Jewellery Quarter and Meriden is the centre of England. Best wishes to David and the business Ron

The Sound “From the Lions Mouth”

Out of curiosity I bought a 4cd box set from Amazon some years ago which includes "From The Lions Mouth" and have always found it interesting, that album being the best in the box. I just looked on Amazon to post a link but could no longer find it however I did see that Demon have re-released...

Which plastic covers for tatty LPs?

Have seen this method recommended on several collectors sites but would it create more (or less) ringwear?
