Finally pulled the finger out and built my high-efficiency speakers.

Had MB2's for several years and powered them (easily) with Bryston 14bsst's. Replaced the 14bsst's with an arcam sr250 which drove them easily (and nicely) in my room and to my listening levels (70-80db at listening pos). Much will depend on your friend's room size/listening level preferences etc.

I've been using a 301 in a panzer/bamboo high mass plinth by russ collinson, FR64s/b60 and decca C4e for years now. Pretty happy with it. Haven't tried other plinth types (e.g. skeletal) so can't comment on the differences there. Hopefully, will get another 301 up and running in the near...

the mark 4's (c4e/sc4e, 78c, 4rc, others?) are standard mount carts. In terms of arms, you'll get different views as to which type of arm (e.g unipivot, heavy mass) are best suited for decca's but the mark iv's are probably not much different to the others in this respect. And sorry - don't...
