Sick of touchscreens in cars? Maybe good news is coming.

The Cupra Ateca has proper dials and buttons. Had one for 3 years when the leases were cheap. It was a hoot around the Swiss and Italian alps and easily swallowed all the camping gear. I was put off the Formentor for the same reason.

Asked for new tyres, was sold defective ones - advice please

Could it be that the tyre centre simply forgot to change them (busy workshop) and you had your original tyres MOT’d?

Mr Bates vs the Post Office

For anyone with an IT background, the witness statement of David McDonnell is quite astounding. He was parachuted in to help the team of hopeless coders who wrote the module that caused the cash discrepancies. It’s well worth a read. He was moved off for causing too much noise...

    Recommendations for Annecy

Stayed for a night last year on a drive to Switzerland. We enjoyed swimming in the lake and drinking beer in Cafe des Arts https://maps.app.goo.gl/ScjzGegtqMXnkNLk7?g_st=ic

    Which Fiat 500?

My parents have a 0.9 TwinAir Panda and it’s an engine I’d avoid having. With only 2 cylinders it’s very rough and can be quite testing in stop start traffic. Also sounds like a diesel. It shattered its flywheel at 40k miles. The only plus is that it is nippy if you floor it, but I’d go for the...

    Car tuning boxes.

I was very impressed by the Race Chip tune box I fitted to my 170 TDI Skoda Yeti. Engine felt quite a bit smoother with effortless acceleration. Overall it felt a better drive. I didn’t notice any difference in fuel consumption. Ran it for a few years and recovered half the cost selling it...

What I find bizarre is the two guys on the ladder half way up the dome. Perhaps they downed the drone with a long pole..?

Terra Nova Laser Competion 1 for all my Lake District wild camping. Less than 1kg and easy to put up. Gosh it’s taken some wild weather too

    Lake district campsite recommendations .

Lanefoot Farm campsite in Braithwaite is a good site. Dog friendly and quiet the times I’ve stayed there. Good walking to be had straight from your tent. They allow small campfires too. No kids playground and basic clean facilities.

The watch thread: pocket, wrist, sporty, showy? You name it!

I only have two watches and this is the most interesting one. I picked it up in Moscow in 1991 with the first Gulf War starting whilst I was there. Quite a surreal trip really. Can anyone translate the writing? https://photos.app.goo.gl/yA63N5Ye8TUrb5bc9 Failed to insert pic from Google...

    British Gas Hive heating contoller

I’ve had one for a couple of years now. I think it’s great and it’s caused me no trouble. The controller box containing the thermostat is WiFi connected so no messy wires and you can take it from room to room. The batteries last about a year. Also has an APP so you can control it from that also
