Very late on this thread, but adding my experience to help others looking at options now or in the future. I have the Naim HE with ATC SCM19As. I bought the Naim s/h and, like manicatel, I wanted to dislike it - I didn't want to go Naim again, felt it was probably overpriced and not good enough...
I have these and they replaced PMC Twenty5 23s which had themselves replaced Proac D20Rs. These are sensitive to sources. I found Chord Hugo TT painful, but Naim Atom HE beautiful. I think these are a bargain at the price. Have a bump from me
If not locked onto Sonos, I've dot, regular latest echo and the studio in our house. All are very good for what they do. Of these, you'd be surprised how good the regular echo is for bedroom use
Thanks guys, kind of what I figured but heard various things about different qualities. Will keep Tidal for now as on 3 month trial then have a look arouns
I'm streaming with Tidal lossless and, without direct comparison other than Spotify, I'm wondering whether there are other lossless options that would sound better or it it's all equal? I like Tidal's playlist successions, so that's another bonus. Would love some feedback
Should add I had them about 20cm from back wall and listening about 5-6ft away. As clownfish says about regular Iotas, while not shrill by any means, hey're not a smooth sound mind you, so will depend on your preference and amp pairing
Worth checking Iota Alphas if you like their size / look. Tiny footprint but big and pretty expansive sound. Need some power though. With Naim Unitiqute 2 they lost most of the bass, which by contrast was quite exceptional for size with Simaudio i3.3 powering them
