    Components that Surprise and Delight

I have a soft spot for the Tannoy 603’s that I bought for about £60. I had 605’s when the Tannoy 6 series came out. I intend to put the 603’s back into service, along with a Temple Audio Bantam Gold, for TV mostly, in another room.

[FS] Reference Fidelity Components Neptune 1m interconnects (2 pairs)

1 pair has Furutech gold plated plugs, and the other Rhodium plated. These are in France, but I don't expect postage to be that much, I'll split the postage with the buyer. I'm looking for £70 each or £130 pounds the pair. https://www.referencefidelitycomponents.co.uk/product/reference-neptune/...

Eversolo DMP A6 ME & Fidelity Audio Signature LPS

Well, I might have, but I was originally looking for a dac upgrade, when I say a dac with a roon bridge logo, and from there I stretched my original budget to 860€. I have two systems, and I am now selling of stuff so I can, maybe, have the A8 in one system and the A6 in the other.

    Audiophile songs you're sick of

Anything by Snorah Jones. Nils ? Way, way back in the day, I was a fan of the mid 70's Nils Lofgren albums, and I have a soft spot for "Nils sings Neil".

Eversolo DMP A6 ME & Fidelity Audio Signature LPS

Well, I can understand that. you can only try it and see. I once lived in a naim centric world, but gave it up some 10+ years ago, and from where I've come from and where I am now, I would fully expect the Eversolo A8 to, err, blow the doors off the naim combo.

Eversolo DMP A6 ME & Fidelity Audio Signature LPS

I was looking for another dac to play with, when I bought the A6, it’s led to me listening to more music, and a re-evaluation of my system. An A8 may be just perfect for me, but it’s not yet Roon Ready, although it can be used with Roon via airplay. Anyway @sometimesuk has spent £1K over the...

Eversolo DMP A6 ME & Fidelity Audio Signature LPS

There’s a lot of posts on the Evesolo forum about the 3rd party power supplies, most people who have gone that route are very happy. Unfortunately, there’s someone over there who keeps barracking anyone who likes to tinker. Disabling the analogue outputs would not be my choice. Sean’s power...

    Passive pre-amps with remote ?

I had mine modified, they were originally RCA, and prior to 2017 I think there was no XLR option, I had TA change them to XLR after I bought the RME. I have never exploited the full potential of the RME, I'll move it on soon. I don't find it clearly better than the DMP-A6.

    Passive pre-amps with remote ?

I have a Khozmo and it's RCA only, I don't have RCA inputs into the TA's. Otherwise, that would be a good idea, but I don't live in the UK, and since Brexshit, that's made such a mess of everything (to put it mildly).

    New Tidal tiers

Qobuz has the buy option, somehow I can't ge over wanting to "own" the music I listen to, that's not so I don't stream at all, so the "Sublime" tier from Qobuz offers a substantial discount in HiRes downloads, even if you only need/want the CD quality. I've never tried tidal, and the last time I...

    Passive pre-amps with remote ?

I hadn't paid enough attention to it. Meanwhile, I have the DMP-A6, which is the streamer/dac, it has 5.2v/2.6v (XLR/RCA) output when used as a preamp. I think it's a game changer in what's available for the money (860€), put it like this, I bought and still have an Oppo 203, which essentially...

    XLR or RCA!

I'd say XLR more equal than RCA. I exclusively use XLR these days because I can, and as many have pointed out, they make a more secure connection. Other than that, it's down to the care the cables were made with, I believe I can hear differences between cables, or I could as a younger man.

    Passive pre-amps with remote ?

You’ll hardly lose, I started with Mk1, don’t know what they are up to now, then bought a Mk2 direct. From there, on to a Khozmo based dual mono.

    Passive pre-amps with remote ?

Cute little thing, and really good sounding, and especially so for the money. As long term solution, very probably.
