Not sure about spec but I play through a Bluesound Node 2i using Qobuz High Res files. I also have a Cyrus 8SE CD player. Budget is £800 to £1200 but could probably go a bit higher if there is a significant difference in sound quality. Doesn’t need to have a pre amp or headphone amp function.

So I thought take your advice and bought these. I have never had balanced XLR cables in my system before as my previous amp only had rca connections. So these cables arrived this morning and I connected them between my Luxman 509x amp and Audiolab MDAC+ and put a Stevie Wonder cd on...........Oh...

I listened to the Luxman 509x, 590 ax mark 2 and the Accuphase E450. I ruled out the 450 as it didn’t sound any better than either Luxman amps and as has been said before the 650 is a big step up so it was...
The dealer chose the speakers because I have a pair of Monitor Audio Gold Ref 20’s at home so we went with the same brand and same speakers throughout the demo.
The demo is likely to be next week as the dealer is still waiting for the 590ax to be despatched. It’s with another dealer who is demoing it for one of their customers.
