[FS] Neurochrome Modulus 686 Tom Christiansen of Neurochrome build

Neurochrome Modulus 686. I have owned this for about 18 glorious months. This was, prior to that, belonging to Oliver Lockley (Bigman80) of Bigbottle Audio and Avalon. Originally bought directly, assembled by Tom Christiansen, of Neurochrome.....the man himself! It was in standard form for...

    [WTD] Alt SBL crossover

I agree with what others have said. The increase in sound quality with a high quality PAXO is amazing. The difference in cost, and box count, to going active , is massive. Personally I preferred the sound of the upgraded PAXO to an active system I heard, but that system was not in my room, so...

    [WTD] Alt SBL crossover

Unfortunate timing of your ad as I have just sold my Sean Jacobs PAXO. I understand that it was one of only 3 he made. I can confirm that the sound differences using it were astounding and, to me, well worth the outlay. I have only sold it as I am Moving away from my sbls and so they may well...

DIY fix for broken Naim CDX - laser unit I think

I had the same issue with my CDX which was diagnosed as the laser by AudioT. At the time, about 2 years ago Naim were still able to repair so I had a full service, including software updates, plus replace laser part of mechanism for the fixed price, around £300 then I think. Seems their laser...

    Naim CD5X Woes

As well as trying Naim I would also consider a local hifi repair shop, a quick internet search will throw some up. I know both my local two will work on Naim equipment.

    Dansette?

I have a 1960s Dansette that is very simple, it is in amazingly original condition and I have toyed with the thought of selling, it is a popular MkII, like this one, https://www.retrotogo.com/2017/01/restored-1968-dansette-popular-mk-ii-record-player-on-ebay.html. I love using it to listen to...

    Custom made cable for Naim

As Alex said, it will be fine as it is just wire. I have made my own interconnects, and the should quality is far better to my ears than my Naim originals.

Short but urgent query on Naim 135s - bargain?

Gone down the DIY route with a Neurochrome Modulus 686, with Bigbottle BT2. Really please that I did as the sound has been transformed for me, to something I find far more 'real' and exciting. I can listen for hours and hours re-discovering long forgotten gems.

Short but urgent query on Naim 135s - bargain?

Sold my 135s earlier this year, they were serviced a 3 years ago, were in mint condition, for £2700. They are a good sounding Naim amp, and in my opinion, some way beyond a 250. I have moved away from Naim now and have bought, in my opinion, a lot more neutral and detailed sounding amp, which...

    Naim SBL set up info

Think the gap is important, but not as important as getting the gasket seal correct and sitting on the metal pads correct. I replaced mine and started from scratch. Take your time, follow the instructions and all should be good. Oh, and I did not buy Naim replacements, I remade them myself for...

Keep my SBLs or go for some Neat Iota Explorer

Yes these are the later Mk2, there were earlier ones without the veneer on the back.
