    ONIX OA21 Toroidal transformer noise

I just plugged my Mulimeter into the mains and tested for DC and just sat there staring at voltmeter and waited for the noise to occur. When its every 30 seconds its much easier. The noise is very common when its first turned on. Like today I left it on for 14hrs and no noise after the initial...

    ONIX OA21 Toroidal transformer noise

Sometimes for days on end and come home put a record on and it was flawless. Then I started turning it off and for the first few...

    ONIX OA21 Toroidal transformer noise

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes. I have a Onix Oa21E and I am experiencing some noise from the transformer. Its intermittent and sounds more like a "brrrrr" sound rather than a buzzing. It can be heard from 5 feet away. It does not translate to the speakers...

I have seen a few photos of the PCB. The round canister and the slim line, both appear straight forward and should not be too difficult to overhaul. I would imagine the caps at this stage of its life are probably exhausted and they should be replaced if its to continue seeing use. I don't have a...

Gaius, Thanks, very helpful. Although have been somewhat surprised how many people have had laser issues with it. I'm thinking that it may not be the laser at all, but perhaps the caps in the PSU causing laser glitches.

I know that the Linn Karik is getting long in the tooth, but I have a chance to get a Karik III and understand that they sound quite good. My concern is: How reliable are they? Do they have issues reading scratched disc's? Are they sensitive to vibrations? My current player is quite...

    Onix OA21 what speakers

Bass with the Klipsch is amazing. wish I had 12in stands as they rumble a bit with the hardwood floors when driven past 12 o'clock . But very happy with them They also sound different than the Harbeth. The Harbeth being 84db are also very easy to drive as they are 8ohm stable. But the Klipsch...
