Pink Triangle Da Capo - the only one

After the demise of the wam it’s good to be back on a friendly and humorous Hifi forum. Back in 1993 or 1994 I listened to a pink triangle da capo, a Michell pre and Alecto power amps into Esl63 and gradient subs. It was at one of the Heathrow shows. I was mesmerised at the time due to its sense...

Is older hi end still hi end today ?

At the moment I’m listening to a Marantz 52 as a transport into a pink triangle da capo with a sugden a21 as the amp. It sounds bloody brilliant. Perhaps only the Da capo you would classify as 90s hi end but it all sounds bloody brilliant.

    Munich Hi-End

stiffness in the headtube and geometry can make a big difference when descending. On a 25 km descent it is the difference of up to 2 mins for me ( I'm not a great descender). bottom bracket stiffness imho is overestimated. most fit non pros simply dont put out the watts for it to make much...

    Chord 2qute competitors @ £600

variable 1,2,3 v output on the qutest allows for enough variation for most amps. Not found it an issue. mk1 hugos are great value now.

    Chord 2qute competitors @ £600

totally agree mk1 hugo is awesome, the balance of detail and analogue smoothness is hard to beat. I'm a chord qutest user and I would be more than happy to use a hugo instead.

I miss their liquid midrange. Bloke from Surrey bought them, he used an mbl cd player, audio research pre amp into some nice proacs.

    Hypothetical Naim system replacement

At the mo it seems like all system change or rebuild questions result in the same answer - active speakers! I tried ATC 40 actives and whilst they sounded effortless at high volumes, they weren't really my cup of tea esp at low volume.

New Source - Chord Hugo TT2 , Klimax or other ?

I'm very happy with a chord qutest dac which when I did a demo was very very close to hugo tt2 and better than the original hugo tt. I will be adding either an auralic aries streamer or dcs network bridge. Haven't tried the upscaler yet. I'm a former Linn dsm user. Haven't heard the latest...

I've posted the PS on tour for the next PFMer to review. Taking it out of my system and that noticeable slight haze is back.
