    CD in 2024

I've been CD since 1985 . Player was expensive ( GBP 270 Yamaha . When that was 9 days take home pay ) and CD was a tenner each whilst LP were 6 quid . Still CD now . Three systems around the house . Bought a CD box set last week on Ebay UK . Got about 1000 CD . Play them in the Discovery 3 and...

Teddy Pardo - is Customs Duty and VAT payable?

Crikey :-( DHL ( from somewhere Stateside ) rang me for credit card details for VAT payment before they'd release it to the local carrier. This was a Robert Benedetto guitar from Mandolin Bros. NYC .

Naim CDX vs CDX2 (2005 model ) buying help please .

Honestly no , it's as good as an information forum gets . There's a lot of terrific information here . Had more time with the CDX2 , and been A/B them . The CDX2 has slightly more resolution , but my CDX is well used and looks it too .

Naim CDX vs CDX2 (2005 model ) buying help please .

Good morning gentlemen . I went with the CDX2 . Does it sound any better ? Well , it's different , but I don't know why . Running it with the Teddy Pardo as previously equipped . The CDX2 puck grips like a gorilla . Has ring magnet and plastic contacts versus the other's rubber rings and...

Naim CDX vs CDX2 (2005 model ) buying help please .

I've an old 1999 CDX which runs through a Teddy XPS . It's fine . I've seen a 2005 CDX2 at a good price ( original owner ) , but it's 150 miles round trip away . Is the CDX2 worth buying ? Is it sonically better and is the laser/transport the next generation after my CDX ? Many thanks :-)

I use a red fiber plumber's washer under the puck on my 1999 CDX . Also rotate the rubber rings from time to time . NEVER leave the puck rubber-ring side down when not in use : the rings will flatten .

Big , big thank you to Yair and Teddy Pardo !

Hello TP World :) It's been a year since that fateful day when my TP DAC-VC ( and the oven ...... ) were hit by a lightning spike . Since Yair repaired my unit , it's been playing wonderfully . On now , playing Sonny Criss ...

    Deltec / DPA

Guitarists have great difficulty in understanding this concept : unplugging guitars , switching badly designed pedals on/off all whilst the amp is cranked. And of course we've now got computer controlled cars that really do not like the circuit to the battery being made from the red-side.

This is memory lane : difficult to find in Australia at the time ( '90-3 ) . I think just a DAC was imported by someone . Were asking $2000 at the time which was the same as Meridian's imported DAC 203b . They both sounded detailed , but the Meridian was readily available from a full range...

Big , big thank you to Yair and Teddy Pardo !

I stupidly left my Teddy Pardo DAC-V powered on ( once in a blue moon do I do this ...... ) with the Cambridge CXC auto-powered off and the Conrad Johnson Classic Sixty Special Edition KT120 unplugged . December in Queensland is indeed afternoon storm season and out of nowhere a bolt hits nearby...
