    MDAC First Listen (part 00110010)

You haven't lived until you have listened to DSD through a dCS Debussy /ATC100ASL+ new ATC SH25-76S tweeter. Looking forward to the showdown with the FDAC :)

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101111)

I have always been a fan of dCS, I had a very early (1995) dCS 952 dac that I used with a CD transport for many years. I have also had my ATC's since then and are still in love with them, so any dac I have, has to get on with them. I am not very good at "techno speak" (quite a lot of the thread...

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101111)

timola No, I have not tried REW, but will investigate. I mainly used the room traces I created with Math Audio to re-position my ATC's to try to minimize the room node I have at 47Hz, so as to minimize the correction that Math Audio has to do. I used the RCA outputs of the MDAC to feed the sub...

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101111)

I was initially impressed, but since having my ATC SCM 100A's upgraded to latest spec (new ATC tweeters and SL bass units), I have been less so. ATC recommend running the SCM 100ASL's full range, then just using any sub to supplement. I now have set the cut off frequency of the B&K Monolith to...

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101111)

This is the driver I have in my B&K Electronics Monolith Plus sub. Not desperately impressed with the B&K box, now sub-stantially improved by being lead lined. This also has the effect of keeping it well held down, spiked to the solid concrete floor.

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101111)

Hi John, I have been somewhat out of it recently, can you please PM me what stage payments I have paid, and a link to the latest spec. ATB Neil A

    ATC SCM50ASL Questions

I'll second the take them yourself route. My 100A's fitted in a Ford Focus, with the seats down, laid on their back, with lots of old cushion and carpet packing. There will be people at the works to help you get them out. Call ATC and ask for Pete, service manager. I dunno if they are letting...

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101100)

At least they now have the case problem sorted ;-)

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101011)

Hi John, I am only interested in the full fat FDAC FWC, with slot loader. I have my Father-In Law's dCS Debussy DAC on semi-permanent loan, so no hurry. He has had to go into a care home, so I have staked my claim on this DAC. I had to upgrade the software to DSD, so rather blown away by some...

    MDAC First Listen (Part 00101010)

Hi John, Just back from rather extensive boating travels in England, then Ireland, so only just up to speed with developments. £50 development payment sent for Detox, I will probably be interested in 2, as my MDAC + amp will now replace the rather squeaky NAD D 3020 digital amp in the computer...

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101000)

Yeah...but...200 Fusion MDAC2's will not fit in a letterbox size Jiffy bag :D

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101000)

I am for the FWC, but from a personal view point, I see this an even a bigger leap of faith in John...but... what I do know from personal experience, is that my MCAC1 sounds a lot better out of the original case (will the even more crammed together MDAC2 boards be so affected?), the original...

    MDAC First Listen (part 00101000)

John, I am also in for the full width chassis / case. Looks like ATC did finally beat you to the finish line, as my 100A's are in the factory for the full SL / tweeter upgrade :) ATC was manic, SCM 40A's everywhere. Keep up the good work! NeilA

    MDAC First Listen (part 00100111)

Yes, this is what is now worrying me. I have borrowed a DSD (DOP) dac and finally got to hear the full potential of my SACD iso's, pure DSD...the only problem was that all my Foobar dsp plugins did not work (including, for me, the rather important Math Audio room equalization plugin). AFAICS to...

Just introduced a sub into my system

Another vote for not being without subs. My teeny REL Quake (£60 SH) spiked to a pile of 30 x 30cm floor tiles and "held down" by yet more floor tiles certainly fills in the missing bass on my once squeaky pc system (NAD D3020 + JBL Control Pro's) Works well with NAD with it's dedicated sub...
