    Satellite v FM Radio

My Meridian 204 tuner broke down recently... am getting a quote for repair. Meanwhile is satellite radio a good option in lieu of FM. I am in Dublin & Lyric FM's digital stream is pretty low bit rate ... so am contemplating s feed from the Satellite TV receiver ..in place of FM ...

    Naim Nait 5

I won the lotto and paid top dollar for a Nait 5 from a UK secondhand hi fi dealer. It was advertised as having been serviced by Naim. It arrived today after having dropped an additional €170 on customs and VAT. The plan was this would replace my 26 year old Nait 3. I was disappointed that...

    Best DAC for around £200 - £300

The Chord Mojo is hobbyist at best and in my opinion clunky in a static set up....the big issues being (1) running out battery half way thro a cd..as apparently leaving it plugged in all the time destroys the battery... (2) setting volume...particularly if you have multiple family users Try a...

    Linn Keilidh speakers

I had a pair for 20 years and really enjoyed them with a Nait 3 & then I joined PFM and I got status anxiety as the tweeters were mesh rather than three bar & I didn't have the ku-stone stands...so they just had to go!!!

Chord Mojo suitable in static Hifi?

I commented on this forum previously about its rather clunky operation with the battery / the blue balls etc was a bit of a pain....soundwise good though...

    Old Naim Naits

I love these old Nait threads...I bought my first Nait (a 3 non R) back in 1995...back in the day the story was that the non R sounded better than the R ... now the received wisdom is opposite ....I then bought a s/h Nait 2 in about 2014 (which I had serviced & repaired @ Class A) for a second...

The Chord Mojo is Clunky & Mandraulic

I will do a check & see how long battery lasts from full charge!!! I saw the mod to eliminate the battery on the web ... definitely worth considering.. personally I would like it done "professionally"

The Chord Mojo is Clunky & Mandraulic

Trouble is Chord must have known that most users would have them in static systems & should've recommended against such deployment..

The Chord Mojo is Clunky & Mandraulic

I was thinking of doing this & may still do but it sort of defeats the purpose of owning a Mojo...battery lasts long enough to play about 2CDs only.....I compare to my mid 90s Nait 3 and Nat 03...both worked solidly & dutifully since purchase no issues !!!

The Chord Mojo is Clunky & Mandraulic

Perhaps my frustration with it is coming from the lockdown....normally its just myself using the system ...now everyone is!!!

The Chord Mojo is Clunky & Mandraulic

To operate the CDP you have to put the PC to sleep....then it powers off (when it runs out of charge) etc. etc... .. ownership is like secret society!!!

The Chord Mojo is Clunky & Mandraulic

L Dont want to give up on it .....I have a Schitt Modi USB on another system ..sounds fine and the Modi Uber has the same # of inputs ...could go there ...primary requirement is CoAxial for the CDP..might look for a CoAx only DAC if such exists!

The Chord Mojo is Clunky & Mandraulic

An otherwise automated process which requires tedious & time consuming manual interventions to make it work!!!
